On first sight this unit looks like the LS901. In fact it is not. It is the
Polifemo sports version of the Pirelli rebreather. If the unit would be
equipped with the big mask her name would be Poseidon. |

Luis E. Filgueira Otamendi.

Being a Naval cadet, between the year 1954/55 I was
trained in the School of Diving of Naval Base of
Mar del Plata (Argentina) the course of tactical
diving. I am, without being able to assure it, the 6th person
from the left in the third picture of the page about the LS901,counted from
the left. Commander D. was our instructor Eugene Wolk who appears in several
photographs, and his assistant was the Cabo Sotura that is the one who,
wears an overall and with cap, appears between two BT., in the cover of the
submarine in another one of the photos With
sincere greetings !
Luis Filgueira E. Otamendi.
(thanks Luis for your information!)

Mr René Hugenschmidt (Hugyfot)
- in 1953 wearing a Pirelli LS-901
|
