The URAL-1 is an back worn rebreather.
The webbings are maiden from brown imitation leather. The case is a shell
construction, maiden of aluminium. |
|
The respiration tubes are connected to the
openings at the upper corners, direct to the scrubber. |
|
Here's is the SCBA open. |
|
The mask is a modification of GP-5, a
regular gasmask. The valves are maiden of rubber and a plastic frame. They
have a big diameter for a comfortable breathing. The valves are compatible
to the KIP-8. |
|
Not only a spit trap. The black rubber
button together with the small valve is for empty the spit trap in use.
Sure, 120 minutes is a long time. The rubber plug is for keep the loop
closed in storage. |
|
The openings, when the SCBA is in use, are
on the backside. Should be a way to protect the SCBA again fire heat. |
|
The ID-label with the serial number. I guess
1966 is the building date. |
|
The scrubber has volume of round 2000 ml.
The exhale of the user goes through the scrubber, into the lung |
|
The counterlung is maiden in brown rubber
and has a volume of 6 liters. The counterlung has only 2 openings. One to
the scrubber and one to the regulator. |
|
The aluminium plate on upside is part of the
over pressure mechanism. The plate is fixate by a rubber belt. The diameter
of the belt is a little bit smaller then the diameter of the counterlung |
|
So when the counterlung is nearly full
inflated, the aluminum plate press on the valve on let the pressure out. The
mechanism open at 5 cmH²O. |
|
At the downside, the counterlung has a
opening. I guess, it is for cleaning the lung. |
|
Here the oxygen part. The parts are in a
really good quality. |
|
The oxygen tank is difficult to estimate. It
is a steel tank in a special size. It must be a volume near 2 liters. The
valve is chromed, like medical valves. The tank fits for the regular russian
oxygen thread. |
|
The regulator is also chromed. Basically,
the regulator has a constant flow of 1 liter per minute. The egg-beater is
the auto-add valve. When the lung collapse, the egg-beater pressed together
and the lever mechanism open the oxygen flush |
|
The small lever on the right side is the
reserve lever, when the oxygen is near to finish. |
|
The lever at the right downside is the
manual oxygen flush. |
|
The oxygen gauge. It has a pressure range
from 0 to 300 bar. On the glass, not easy to see, is an older calibration
stamp. |
