Info:

The Min-O-Lung was originally built by J H Emerson Co, based on a design by Dr Christian Lambertsen for the CIA.  It was part of a series of units built by Emerson at that time where they used common components across several units to get economy of scale - the Min-O-Lung was Emerson's Model # 9-SO-R1 and the other two Models were # 9-SO-3 and 9-SO-21.  They were all pure oxygen rigs, the differences were Model 9-SO-3 supplied oxygen through a hand metering valve, whereas Model 9-SO-21 had a double demand valve.

The Min-O-Lung was designed to be a compact 15lb, front mounted set to give the user an hours worth of dive time whilst ensuring it was small enough to crawl through narrow ports and be portable.
